Why do we need a logo? Why should we hire a designer? Can’t we just use one of those website that helps me create a logo for next to nothing?
These are questions many businesses ask themselves and professionals, so I thought I would roll up my sleeves and answer these questions and explain the merits and benefits of proper branding. A brand image is an important component to a business’s success. It helps to create immediate recognition and can convey messages and ideas such as trustworthiness, fun, youthful exuberance, or wisdom. For all intents and purposes, it really is the “face” of your business. That’s why you need not only a logo, but a brand image. Now, why is it necessary to hire a professional designer to help you create a brand image? Why shouldn’t your business just use a low cost website? The short answer: Cookie cutter designs that everyone, including your competition can use, not to mention similarities to (some might say copies of) existing, recognizable brands. A reputable designer won’t turn to a previously created design for your brand. A designer’s job is to work closely with you to create a brand that speaks to your intended audience. It’s a personally tailored service that those websites can’t and don’t (and don’t want to) provide. The final artwork and brand image becomes property of your company. Another company wanting the same design won’t legally be able to use it and a reputable designer won’t recreate it for them. When properly employed a brand image builds strength in your business, trust in your products, and faith in your company.
